The Southwest Minnesota Career Expo is designed to increase students’, educators’, and other adults’ awareness about current and future career opportunities. The Expo is a highly interactive career information and exploration event for high school students, Workforce Center customers, adult basic education students, and undeclared college freshman. Our goal is to recruit 100 career exhibitors at Minnesota West campus in Worthington on Tues., Sept. 26th, 2023.
In 2022, we served over 2100 students from 33 schools. This event runs at Minnesota West Community and Technical College in Worthington from 9:15 a.m. to 12:25 p.m. High school students spend 90 minutes in the career exhibit area (which will include student orientation to the exhibits & career info, college welcome, and exhibit exploration), 45 minutes in the Career is Right Game Show, and 45 minutes on a college campus tour.
