After our successful Career Expo in the fall with Waseca Schools, we are taking it a step further this spring and having a more immersive experience for more students. This Immersive Career Education Day (ICED) will be held on Monday May 22nd, at the Waseca Community Arena. This is not your standard career expo, all participating businesses have to have an experiential activity for the students to try so they can get a feel for what your industry does. The students need to get their hands and minds working for this event. For instance, if Mediacom had a booth they may not showcase a call center position but, they could have the kids try to repair broken fiber optic cables (with the guidance of broadband specialist).
If you have large equipment or animals that you would like to bring, we can accommodate that, as we will have the entire parking lot of the arena available to us as well. Again, the majority of vendor spots are reserved for Chamber Members, a lunch will be provided to all vendors, and tables will be supplied. There is a $25 cost per vendor. The attached flyer has the link to sign up embedded in it. You will fill out a simple google form telling us what kind of space you will need for your display and there is a spot to click at the top to pay the fee. Being a Chamber Member, you can have it invoiced. We are really looking forward to this first-of-its-kind event and we are fortunate to have such a strong partnership with our school district.
