Dear Maple River Area Business Professional:
Over the past 25 years of being a school counselor at Maple River High School, I have consistently found the Maple River communities—businesses, civic groups, and individual members alike—to be the best supporters of our kids, school, elderly, and community events. Whether an independent business owner or an employee of a company within our area, know that you are valued! Thank you for all that you do to make the communities of Mapleton, Amboy, Good Thunder and Minnesota Lake a place many of us are proud to call home!
It has always been my goal to help our students understand the fantastic opportunities that surround them for employment. In an effort to show the students all the opportunities available to them, I will be hosting a “Maple River Business and Community Fair” on Friday, March 31, 2023 at Maple River School from 8:30-10:30 AM. During that time, business and industries within our area will be able to showcase their career field and help these soon-to-be Maple River graduates understand why we would love to have them live and work within our area someday.
How Will the Business and Community Fair Work?
Each business and community civic group represented will have its own table provided by the school. I will provide signs with your business name on it if you do not have one available Students will attend the event in the gym to explore and ask questions on a rotating basis by grade level (grades 9-12).
Is There a Cost to Attend?
No, there is no cost to participate.
What If I Don’t Need to Hire Anyone?
Some businesses may come with the hope of encouraging students to apply for jobs; however, if you are not in need of hiring, it’s okay! This is a chance for all of us to show the students what types of businesses exist so they can become the next generation to work within our communities and help them thrive!
